September 9, 2019 - Pottstown Heritage Airport, PA Breakfast Fly-In

The Essex Skypark Hangar Row A flyers were headed to Pottstown Heritage Airport this morning for their annual fly-in breakfast.  Ron in his C150, followed by Tom in his Maule and Chuck in his C172 follow me on the runway and taxiway.

Tom and Rachel wing northwards over Maryland in the Maule.

Ron is silhouetted in his 150 agains the high overcast.

Pottstown Heritage is easy to navigate to.  Just head for the twin powerplant cooling towers and take a right.

Looking down at Pottstown Heritage airport.

This nice Travel Air followed me in on landing.

A pretty good turnout, but not as good as what I remember the first time I flew in here back in 2005 with my Dad in the Citabria:  Link.

Parked on the grass at Pottstown Heritage.

Enjoying a delux breakfast -- scrambled eggs, thick ham, pancakes and potatoes -- under the trees.

The entire Hangar Row A Flyers group enjoying coffee after breakfast.

A colorful RV-12 by an RV-8.

This RV-8 is deserving of a closer look.

A great shot of two RV-8s in formation.  The RV at top is for sale -- contact me if you are interested.

A T-34 and a Japanese equivalent of a T-34.  I've seen that plane before but I can't remember when.

The Hangar Row A flyers parked on the grass.  My little plane is barely visible next to the Maule.

Hey, I just saw this Yankee yesterday at the Wings fly-in!  It was manufactured in 1973 and has an O-235 engine which produces about 108 horsepower.  Cruise speed is around 125 mph.

This plane looks unusual from the rear with those big wings and little fuselage.

A look at it from the side.  It's a Zenair CH-601 Zodiak.   This one is a homebuilt finished in 2003.

A little Pitts parked on the grass.

Not too many RVs flew in but here is one.

And there is mine.

The flight home.  Passing by Rich and Nhu-An in their C172.

The 172 and Maule flying in loose formation side by side.

I broke off and checked out Havre De Grace at the mouth of the Susquehanna River where it joins the Chesapeake Bay.

Acloser look at the town.

Some friends of ours live down there in one of those waterfront houses.

Flying back home down the Eastern Shore.

A map showing this weekends flights to Wings Airport and Pottstown Heritage Airport.   As you can see, they are actually fairly close together!
